Like, just think about it - the feeling of having a great weight lifted off your shoulders - that expression comes with a literal sensation. Our language is fraught with such terms. A chill down the spine.
A special interest of mine and a topic of deep curiosity, is the way embodied language works across cultures. I'm told that from the research that has been done, that we do in fact embody idioms differently. Which is goddamn fascinating.

A chill down the spine. Hairs standing on end. These are all things that happen to human bodies, but different cultures attach different meanings to them.
If I had the means, and the opportunity, I'd make this my thesis project, to map embodied expressions and idioms across the world, and see where the differences and similarities arise.
