I'm not going to act surprised or anything to find out some of my homeless friends are getting their food assistance shut off. Since they're not gainfully employed and all. So, work or starve. Here we are.
Pretty rich considering the literal inscription at Lady Liberty's base includes the word homeless. But we are a faithless, feckless lot, aren't we. Just ask anybody we've ever had a treaty with. Eh?
Had a bit of an emotional and mythic reaction earlier to an accumulation of bad news from my poverty peeps. I didn't even know I had tears of rage to fight down, but I do.
Like it or not, I was overwhelmed with Christian programming growing up so I will never be able to escape being culturally Christian at the very least. And I'm kind of an angry atheist. But you know, that Christ guy, he was on to a few things.
For one, I think he'd stan Luigi Mangione. And health insurance and food and housing for all. For Chrissakes. This fucking for profit bullshit has got to go. And boy oh boy would he be flipping some tables right about now. Let's not even get into Palestine, because I think he'd be on the Palestinians' side. Definitely pro DEI and transgender.
This world is so trash right now. And there's no savior coming to get us. We're all we have. But it sure would be nice, to have a Gandalf the Grey stand up and say, "Hello, my name is Luigi Mangione, you killed democracy, you shall not pass." And fail some mofos. With fire. Into the sun. We need a cosmic scale yeeting.
